Area: Fashion/clothing/ kidswear
Administrators: Laetitia Barbu and Ruxandra Lupu

Brydges

Advisor: Taylor Brydges. As part of her International Mobility Postdoc (Swedish Research Council (Vetenskapsrådet), held at the Department of Human Geography at Stockholm University), Dr. Brydges is conducting a new research project examining sustainability and the circular economy in the Swedish fashion industry.

Objective: the aim is to re-think sustainability in fashion from the material to the conceptual and back: how can we give new values to clothing, how can people reconnect with their clothing and value them, new meaning to processes of repairing, re-using and aesthetics.

Activities: co-creative workshops engaging specialists in thinking together, producing and testing concrete solutions inspired by illustrations brought or created by the illustrators.

TELL ME – This is the first project with children, developed under the umbrella of D4CR Local Chapters (Designing For Children’s Rights) as part of the IN2FROCC programme. Based on the visual analysis of what children wear and how they define themselves in fashion, the “Amis-habits” of schools around the world share their daily interactions with clothing. The focus on children’s answers contribute to our understanding of children’s interactions with clothing.
